Aim: How can we use the distributive property?
Homework: Textbook pp.86-87, #9, 11-18
Do Now: Simplify.
1. -6(3n - 2)
Write in factored form.
2. 18(x) + 3(18)
Classwork: Distributive property allows us to multiply a term outside parentheses by each term within the parentheses. There are times when you already have the simplified result and want to work backwards; this is called factoring.
Announcements: We will be having a quiz on Thursday. The quiz will cover distributive property, factoring, and order of operations work.
