AIM: How can we practice our unit 2 skills?
HW: Review topics from Unit 2. Actively study vocabulary words, practice problems online, review notes from class.
Classwork: Today we practiced a variety of questions from Unit 2. Students worked with partners and responded to question sets using the smart response clickers. Feedback was provided at the end of the period to help students identify their strengths and weaknesses in the unit. The question set, along with answers, is located below.
Students are responsible for the following topics and more for the unit exam:
Similarity - same shape different size; corresponding angles are congruent, corresponding sides are proportional
Congruence - same shape, same size; all parts of one figures are exactly the same as another
Scale Factor - number which scales, or multiplies, some quantity (percents, fractions, decimals)
Proportions - used with corresponding sides to determine similarity or find missing pieces
Adjacent Side Ratios - to determine similarity or to find missing pieces
Graphing points on a coordinate plane
Stretching and shrinking on the coordinate plane
Moving figures on the coordinate plane
Perimeter and Area with similar figures
Shadow Method - find the height of tall objects that are difficult to measure
